| Titles Wiped - New Ladder System - Signing Fighters |
|
The MMA Big Show has been the leader in Pro/Am MMA in the region since 2006 with production quality second to none and the national promotion of it's fighters. A great deal is about to change in how business is ran, fights are handled and how the competition is dealt with. Hit the jump for the full breakdown.
Titles As of the time of this writing, the MMA Big Show had multiple title holders in both the Amateur and Professional divisions, however, once titles are won, due to the fact that holding an MMA Big Show Title actually means something on a national level, some fighters haven't been too eager to defend them out of fear of losing it. As such we are wiping all titles for a clean slate. From this point forward, a Title will be listed for each of the weight classes the MMA Big Show is prepared to develop and a ladder system will be implimented. The Weight Classes the MMA Big Show will be actively developing are: 145-155-170-185-Heavyweight There will be 5 titles in each of the Pro and Amateur Divisions and competition for some of these titles will begin on July 17th. Ladder System There will be a new ladder system which is in development right now of which we will be launching soon to be made available to the public. The top two tiers of each ladder for each weight class in each division will reflect the two fighters set to fight for a title. Once the complete ladder system has been adopted, fighters will always know as will the fans, who is scheduled to fight who next. Fighters set to fight another in the ladder who fail to meet the challenge will drop 2 spots on the ladder. Fighters who lose a fight on the ladder will drop 2 spots. Fighters who win, will move up 1 spot. Once the ladder system launches, each one will be available on mmabigshow.com and updated after each event. Signing Fighters No other Pro-Am Promotion in the region promotes and markets fighters quite like the MMA Big Show. Due to the number of all amateur shows popping up all over the Tri-State we will be signing amateur and pro fighters alike to exclusive agreements starting now. We are looking for 10 of the best and most committed fighters in each weight class in the Pro and Amateur divisions who want to excel in their careers. The fighters we sign, both pro/am will be actively promoted and marketed heavily and will recieve a multitude of perks and benefits. This is not to say we aren't willing to sign more than 10 fighters per class, but that is our goal to begin with our plans. This is simply the only effective way of being able to actively market and promote fighters without A. fueling competing events but B. ensure that fighters aren't getting injured fighting 1 or 2 weeks away from their MMA Big Show match up. Amateurs will be able to fight monthly very soon. Professionals will be fighting quarterly if not more. Every fight will count. Why is this all happening? I type this while looking down at my desk where a piece of paper lays called a Letter Of Intent. It's a legal letter from a national television station on DirecTV saying that when the MMA Big Show is ready to BROADCAST LIVE 2 HOUR EVENTS, we can......yes, we have our network and we have some major plans for it. We may not get everything established prior to the July 17th event but certainly by the next show in November. With LIVE national television, we will be able to begin traveling to other markets and will begin restricting our Belterra Casino events to once per quarter while doing a quarterly show in another market and so on. Officially releases regarding the network, first official live broadcast event and the sponsors associated with it will be released once the sponsors and details have been worked out which is now in process. We will be developing our own reality series as well, the majority of which will be shot in the upcoming Big Show Gym in Eastgate Mall. It's all finally coming together and things are going to get pretty crazy here in the coming months. More news and updates on all of the aforementioned changes coming soon.
